Here is Italy’s richest municipality, thanks to Ronaldinho, but not only to him
A chart on Italians' incomes, published by "Il Sole 24 Ore". The data refer to the 2010 income tax return; in the national chart, there is the small municipality next to Lake Varese, with 1000 souls and a little less than 600 taxpayers.
Galliate Lombardo is Italy’s richest municipality. Actually, the richest inhabitants in Italy live there. This is what is shown on Italy’s income tax return chart, published by "Il Sole 24 Ore". The data refer to the 2010 income tax return; in the national chart, there is the small municipality next to Lake Varese, with 1000 souls and a little less than 600 taxpayers, that jumped to the top with an incredibly better performance than the previous one. In 2006, Galliate was well placed with €29,627.90 of income tax return, but in 2010 instead, the high jump was more than double, with €74,744.50 of average income. This was a significant increase, which finds an explanation in the peculiar teeth, braids and AC Milan’s T-shirt: Ronaldinho, who from 2008 to 2010 had chosen to live on the shores of the lake in the luxurious mansion that in the past had belonged to Ugo Tognazzi and, later, to Riccardo Sogliano (see picture).
"I am not surprised", says Galliate Lombardo’s mayor, Carlo Tibiletti. Before the arrival of VIPs like Ronaldinho, Galliate was well placed in this misleading chart; in fact, the municipality itself is not rich, its citizens are; there’s a lot of difference." Already starting from this year, without the income of AC Milan’s former player who is back to Brazil, Galliate will fall into line once again, and it will not be able to aim at the podium or at the first place of the chart. "Galliate is beautiful." adds Galliate’s mayor. "Important entrepreneurs and managers have decided to live here, and in the past ten years, the population increased by 120, and the speculative bubble has been stopped in time and Galliate will only grow with harmony and respect. We work hard, we pursue our projects with effort and sharing."
The wealth of the people living here has not prevented the crisis from having an effect: "Also here we had some difficulties, this year we will receive €70,000 less in transfers from Rome, and also Ronaldinho’s €10,000/20,000 will be missing." explains mayor Tibiletti. "We don’t make a mountain out of a molehill and we roll up our sleeves, without increasing taxes (the "IMU" on the first house will be at the minimum allowed by the Law). I am happy about one thing: this chart shows that my fellow citizens know how to live well and respect the rules."
