Elmec Solar launches the purchasing group for photovoltaic panels

The proposal is to install a photovoltaic panel, to cut the cost of bills, but also to protect the environment. However, the ecological argument and the economic savings are often not sufficient to overcome the doubts concerning the initial cost, which not everyone can afford.

For two years, Elmec Solar has promoted purchasing groups, starting from the principle of a consortium. The new proposal was presented by Andrea Grimaldi of Elmec Solar, Massimo Tufano of BCC Garolfo and Buguggiate, and Paolo Cova and Mirko Dotta of Naturcoop.

From today, Tuesday 10 May, until 30 June, it will be possible to join the proposal for joint purchasing, at a lower cost. The experience is in its third year and, in previous years, more than two hundred people joined, with the result of 80 photovoltaic systems being installed.

The proposal allows achieving economies of scale, with genuine discounts, guaranteeing the quality of the components, for both purchase and installation. Since last year, alongside Elmec Solar, there has also been BCC, who provide loans at a rate of 2% for the first two years. Furthermore, the social cooperative Naturcoop, of Somma Lombardo, assists adherents with all of the administration and bureaucracy.

The purchasing group’s areas of reference are Varese Province, Como Province, Upper Milan Province and the neighbouring areas of Novara Province.

Applicants will meet Elmec Solar staff, who will explain the terms of the proposal, after they have assessed the actual possibility of installing a panel. Once the terms of the proposal are up, there will be a second meeting, to define exactly how much the applicants have to pay; on that occasion, they can decide to join and to purchase the system.

Among the new products that can be purchased, there is also the battery for storing the energy produced, an option that Elmec Solar can provide today, thanks to an agreement with the company Tesla, one of three distributors in Italy.

If you want to know more, you can participate in an information meeting on 8 June, at 6.30 p.m., at the offices of Elmec, in Brunello. The managers of Elmec Solar will explain the proposal and the new offers in detail, and BCC (Banca di Credito Cooperativo) will present the terms of possible loans. A mounted system can costs between €6600 and €10,000, depending on the power chosen.

At the meeting, there will also be Naturcoop, who, last year, started providing their services in the bureaucratic field, after they purchased a photovoltaic system for their offices.

At the same time, with a view to sharing and support, the purchasing group will also learn about the project “Inandoutoftheghetto.org/italia” about a small non-profit cooperative that works in Zambia, in the Bauleni ghetto,  just outside Lusaka. The project aims to install the system for a social centre, and thereby, to guarantee the supply of energy for the entire day, as opposed to 4 hours, which they currently have, given that the service is rationed by the State. The initiative, which has already been joined by Elmec Solar, BCC and Naturcoop, is also open to voluntary contributions from individual buyers.
